Update:10/16/2019 Source:hld.gov.cn

Xingcheng Shoushan Mountain is 329.7 meters above sea level. The three peaks look like human heads so it is called Shoushan Mountain, which means Head Mountain in Chinese. Shoushan Mountain located to the northeast of ancient Xingcheng is a natural cover of defense. The soldiers must defense Shoushan Mountain first to defense the ancient city. So Shoushan Mountain was an important strategic point in history. It was the main battlefield of Ningjin Great Victory in the 7th year of the reign of Tianqi in the Ming Dynasty (1627AD).

Shoushan Mountain is a National Forest Park and a national 3-A scenic spot. There is a Beacon Tower on the highest peak. Shoushan Mountain looks like a beautiful and graceful lying girl when it is seen from a distance. When clouds float in the mountain, the peaks loom from time to time. The clouds are like white dress and the mountain is like a shy girl, who is pretty and charming. It was given the name Cloud Crowns on Three Heads by the ancient people. It ranks first of the eight sight spots in Xingcheng.

Seen from a distance, the buildings, pavilions, the temple gate and paths, and the pines and rocks of grotesque shapes add radiance and beauty to each other. Mountain climbers can climb on the rocks and get through pine forest to watch the sea and the sunrise. They can appreciate the magnificent scenery of sea and sky. On the top of the peak, tourists can appreciate the beautiful slope in the west on which there is a thick pine forest. As a poem goes, “The slope is covered with green pine trees. The green high peaks tower to the blue sky.” The main sight spots of Shoushan Mountain Scenic Spot include the Main Gate Square of Shoushan Mountain, Beacon Towers, Chaoyang Palace, Drunken Lying Beauty, Yixing Pavilion, Five Linking Lakes, Wanghai Tower, Leaning Pavilion, Site of Ancient Battlefield, Cliff of Rocks of Grotesque Shapes, Shoushan Mountain Plank Road and Mountain-climbing Stone Path.
