A launching ceremony of the theme activity "Learning from Lei Feng, Practice Civilization and Act" was convened in the square of Longbeishan Park of Longgang District on the morning of March 5. This event was hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Municipal Committee and the Municipal Civilization Office, and organized by the Municipal Volunteer Service Federation, with the aims to vigorously inherit and carry forward the spirit of Lei Feng, guide the broad masses of party member cadres and masses to firmly pursue lofty ideals and actively practice socialist core values.

At the ceremony, the volunteer representatives read out the Proposal for Learning from Comrade Lei Feng. On the event site, publicity panels were set up to publicize the spirit of Lei Feng to the people, and literary volunteers brought dances and musical instrument performances to promote the spirit of Lei Feng and pay tribute to the pioneers of the times with rich artistic expressions. Professionals and volunteers gathered in the square for volunteer service, which were organized by more than 10 departments, units and volunteer service organizations according to the characteristics of their respective industries. At the event site, volunteers provided free haircuts, blood pressure and blood sugar measurements, psychological, medical and legal consultations, popular science knowledge on health, first aid, city development for high moral and cultural standards, garbage sorting, finance and nuclear power, as well as conducted publicity on maritime safety and anti-telecom fraud.

The civilized practice and voluntary service activities were warmly welcomed and highly praised by the general public. Although the weather in early spring was a bit cold, it didn't stop the enthusiasm of the volunteers. The spirit of Lei Feng, which has been passed down from generation to generation, deeply infected everyone on the site. Through this kind of activity, the volunteers proved to the general public with practical actions that everyone could learn from the spirit of Lei Feng and offer love to others at anytime and anywhere.
