Hongyazi Peanut, also known as Xingcheng Peanut, has got its name from the main producing area Manchu Town, Hongyazi, Xingcheng City, Liaoning Province. Hongyazi Manchu Town is located in the west of Xingcheng City and in the semi-hilly area. With a total population of 32,000, the town has 19 administrative villages and 87 natural villages. The land area is 150.1 square kilometers, of which 118,000 mu is cultivated land. The planting area of peanuts is 100,000 mu, and the yield per mu is over 300 kg. The annual output of peanuts is 30,000 tons. Because of many specific factors such as soil and climate conditions in Hongyazi area, the peanuts planted here are rich in nutrients. The peanut fat content is 44-45% and oil yield is 40-43%. The protein content is 24%-36% and the carbohydrate content is 10%-24%. The peanuts are rich in essential inorganic salts such as E, Ca, Zn, Fe, Sr, etc. The content of aflatoxin is close to zero. The peanut has the effects of lowering cholesterol, preventing arteriosclerosis and hypertension, and invigorating the spleen and stomach. Hongyazi Manchu Town Peanut is well received in domestic and foreign markets.  

　　There are more than 1,000 peanut processors in Hongyazi area, of which 6 enterprises are above designated size. October is the peak season for peanut processing. A labor market of more than 100 people is formed on the streets of Hongyazi spontaneously. Liaoning Zhengye Peanut Development Co., Ltd. was awarded as the national leading enterprise of agricultural industrialization in 2016. The Zanyouren series of peanut snacks produced by the enterprise are sold in large cities like Shanghai. Liaoning Fukang Peanut Oil Co., Ltd., designed to produce 200 tons of peanut oil per day, debugged the production line and had a trial production at the end of 2017, and registered the Jinyuan trademark. The production of this project has enabled the peanut industry in Hongyazi Town to have a high-quality peanut oil processing enterprise on the basis of resource advantages and price advantages. 

　　Hongyazi Peanut obtained the National Geographic Indications Protection Product Certification of the People’s Republic of China from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China on Sept. 3, 2010. Hongyazi Peanut was recognized by the State Administration of Industry and Commerce as 100 + 100 Mutual Exemption and Customs Clearance Products between China and Europe in 2016. The market volume of Hongyazi Peanut reached 200,000 tons, and its output value exceeded 2 billion yuan in 2016. The export enterprises of Zhengye, Jindou and Xingmao exported 15,000 tons of peanuts. In 2015 and 2017, Hongyazi was awarded the title of Peanut Hometown of Liaoning Specialty by four departments, including Liaoning Agricultural Commission. Jinzhongzi Research and Development Center of New Varieties with investment of 60 million yuan has been in construction. The declaration of the Provincial Peanut Town is in progress.
