The grape production in Taijitun town originated in the 1980s. In the early stage, individual farmers planted grapes on a small scale in the courtyard, and the planting technology was not mature. Since the 1990s, the town has devoted itself to adjusting the structure of agricultural industry, taking the development of grape industry as an important job to promote agricultural efficiency and increase farmers’ income. The town focuses on building the high-efficiency grape park covering10,000 mu, which integrates grape production, processing, storage and sales. The town fully guarantees the construction of supporting facilities in the park, encourages the transfer of land management rights, supports the establishment of grape production cooperatives, develops grape brokers, and provides convenience for growers in terms of production materials, planting technology and marketing channels. 

　　Kyoho Grape is the main grape variety of the town. The yield per mu is 2000-2500 kg. The wholesale price is 1-2.5 yuan/500g and the retail price is 3-3.5 yuan/500g. The economic benefit of grape per mu is around 15,000 yuan. With the improvement of grape planting technology and the changes of market demands, the varieties of grapes planted are becoming more and more abundant, such as Rose-scented Grape, Red Grape and Jingya Grape. At present, the grape planting area of the whole town is 13,000 mu, the annual output is about 30,000 tons, and the annual output value is about 200 million yuan. The grape plantations of the  town are mainly distributed in Dahuangdi Village, Xiaohuangdi Village and Taijitun Village. Yingfangzi Village, Menglazi Village and Changlinggou Village also have grape planting on a certain scale. With its excellent quality, the grapes in Taijitun Town enjoy high popularity in the whole country, especially in southern cities. 

　　In recent years, in order to comprehensively improve the quality of grapes and the market competitiveness of products, the town has devoted itself to developing grape planting facilities, implementing the project of Grape Standardization Demonstration Zone, encouraging and guiding the transfer of land management rights to large professional growers by means of subcontracting, exchange, leasing and transfer, promoting the large-scale management of land so as to improve land output rate and resource utilization rate. The town has planned and constructed facility grape plots in Yingfangzi Village and Xiaohuangdi Village respectively so far. The income of grapes in the demonstration area can reach 26,000 yuan per mu, which is 1.5 times that of grapes grown in bare land. The demonstration and popularization of new technologies have emancipated people’s minds and stimulated their determination and confidence to grow grapes scientifically and get rich with the help of technology. The demonstration area effectively promotes the development of grape industry and promotes social, economic and ecological benefits. In the next 3-5 years, the town plans to develop a grape planting area of 18,000 mu, including 1,000 mu of facility grape planting area.
