The People's hospital of Jianchang County is the only large public hospital in our county. It was founded in 1950 and moved to the current location in January 2008. It has been listed by the government as an enterprise management of public institutions and self-supporting units in 1992. Ever since then the local government has not invested any funds into the hospital in the past 25 years. The hospital gradually grows stronger during the hardships in the past 67 years and becomes large comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching and health care. In 1997 it was rated as a secondary class a hospital.
The hospital covers an area of 45,500 square meters with a building area of 35,000 square meters. The equipment is worth of about 73.67 million yuan, with more than 300 sets (pieces) of large-scale equipment, the single value of which is over 10,000 yuan. The equipment includes magnetic resonance, whole-body CT, color ultrasound instrument, CR, biochemistry instrument and hemodialysis machine. Registered number of beds of the hospital is 450 and 650 beds are actually opened the patients.
The hospital has 21 clinical departments, 23 medical technology departments and the intervention center to carry out the work. In addition, the hospital also has the emergency center which made outstanding contribution to emergency treatment and first aid for people living in the county. There are 677 employees in the hospital, among whom 516 are technicians and 159 are logistics personnel. Our hospital cultivates and introduces talents through various ways. Every year, more than 20 employees with development potential are funded by the hospital to go to other places for training and further study.
In 2016, the total number of hospitalized patients was 20,495 and 20465 were discharged. Total number of the outpatient visits was 204404.
Auxiliary examination: 36211 person-times received color ultrasound examination. 29804 person-times received CT examinations. 24891 person-times received X-ray examination. There were 591654 person-times of examination. Number of auxiliary examination person-times increased compared with previous years. The number of surgical cases was 3324.The average stay duration was 6.8 days with bed turnover times of 38.6.
Due to the comprehensive reform of public hospitals, all drug markups were abolished since September 30, 2015. Over the past two years, total amount of more than 22 million yuan has been surrendered to local people.
